Thank you for visiting The Golden Horseshoe website.

The dates for the 59th Golden Horseshoe Ride are 23rd & 24th May 2026.

Following the success of the 60th Anniversary in 2025 of the very first Golden Horseshoe Ride we are delighted to continue to present this prestigious event.

The very first Golden Horseshoe Ride was one 50 mile (80km) class, a linear route from Malmesmead to Ronald Duncan’s (the creator) home in Welcombe, Devon.

We bring back our full programme of classes from the ultimate 2-day 100 mile (160km) Golden Horseshoe Class to a 10 mile (16km) Pleasure Ride.

This year we are introducing a new class - a 2-day 105km. We hope that those who have previously done a 2-day 80km but worry about jumping straight to the 2-day 120km might like to try this as a stepping stone. We see it as a way to help your progression to one day competing in the ultimate 100 miles!

For the full class list please follow the menu selections at the top of the page.

Last years ride was a huge success and we are so pleased to have been able to share it with the riders, their crews, our lovely officials and volunteers and the local community - many of whom came to visit us at the Showground.
